School Vision

Our School Community and Vision

Ygnacio Valley Elementary is the hidden gem of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. The staff is exemplary in their vision of student achievement and collaboration. The families and staff here are clearly proud of our school and the growth the students have accomplished over the most recent years.

Information you should know:

  • YVE has celebrated continued growth on the Academic Progress Index (API) over the past 7 years.
  • Our Kindergarten program is unique in that we provide an extended Kindergarten day. Whereas, most schools have a 3 1/2 hour Kindergarten day, Kindergarten students at YVE attend school for 5 hours daily. This allows us to offer plenty of time to master the standards that are foundational to lifelong learning while still making time for activities that foster creativity and socialization.
  • We are a Response to Intervention (RTI) school. Students who need extra support receive it daily from our intervention team.
  • YVE has the CARES After School Program, which provides homework help time, enrichment activities, and health and nutrition programs through a free after school program until 5:30 p.m. each day for students in grades K-5.
  • We have a k through 5th grade developmental bilingual program. If Spanish is your primary language this program might meet your child's growth and language needs to graduate as a bilingual student!

Our community and staff work together in School Site Council, PTA, and English Language Advisory Council to make an impact with student growth and academics so they are ready for the 21st century. All are welcomed to our monthly meetings to participate positively and increase student achievement.

School Vision: Prepare our students for a successful college, and/or career life.
